| MIER College of Education celebrated World Forestry Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, March 22: With an aim to create awareness among the youth, the Environment Unit of MIER College of Education celebrated the World Forestry Day and World Water Day by organising a Tree Plantation Drive and staging a skit on the theme.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Director, MIER & Principal, MIER College of Education, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER & Vice Principal, MIER College of Education, Dr. Surinder Kaur Controller Examinations, Dr. Annie Koul, HOD B.Ed wing, Mr. Rajendra Praveen HOD B. Ed special education wing, and all the staff members graced the occasion with their presence.
In the welcome address, Monika Bajaj, Incharge Environment Unit extended a formal welcome to the dignitaries and highlighted the importance for preserving the environment.
The students presented an inspirational skit to bring home the urgent necessity of planting trees and conserving the precious water reserves. It was followed by a tree plantation drive in which the students and staff participated with enthusiasm.
