| Sahyog India International water conservation campaign launched ‘ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, March 22
Celebrating World Water Day declared by United Nation to feel the importance of water and its conservation for the survival of future generations, the special chidren of Sahyog India today launched water security campaign at its complex at Prerna Institute of Rehabilitation & Research.
In his address the Founder President of Sahyog India Dr. Ashwani Jojra said ``not only on World Water Day but everyday we must reaffirm that clean water is life, and our lives depend on how we protect the quality of our water because when we use water wisely, we help the environment’’.
He said that it was very alarming and worrisome that every second the urban population grows by two people, 1/5th of the world’s population lives in area of water scarcity, 828 million in slums or informal settlement that are scattered around the world’s cities.
Mahesh Kinth, Secretary, Sahyog India said that under the campaign launched by Sahyog India every volunteer shall go door to door to make every citizen aware of the serious problems of water scarcity.
