ReT teachers demand regularization cane -charged | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 22: The secretariat march of the Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers Tuesday followed a scuffle between police outside the Press Club Jammu, eyewitnesses said. The ReT were demanding regularization of the EVS teachers as general line teachers who have completed their seven years of service in the education department, inclusion of five years rendered services as ReT for seniority benefits, and enhancement in the honorarium of the ReT upto Rs 7,000 per month. Other demands include provision of SRO-43 in favour of ReTs and EVs, provision of transfer policy in favour of the regularized ReT teachers and implementation of the government order number: 115 of February 29, 2008 in favour of the ReT teacher’s regularization on or after January 1, 2010 for old pension scheme. Eyewitnesses said that hundreds of ReT teachers from across the state assembled here under the leadership of Vinod Sharma, president All Jammu and Kashmir ReT Teachers Forum assembled with a motive to take out a rally towards the civil secretariat to press their pending demands but was foiled by the police personnel. “The ReT teachers entered into scuffle with the police after they were not allowed to head for secretariat, though cane charge was not done,” the eyewitnesses added. As soon as they tried move out, the police team intercepted them and barricaded the main road leading towards the Dogra Chowk.
