| Now it is senior citizens taking to streets: Manhas | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, March 22: The senior citizens, like other people in the state, are made to suffer due to wrong policies of the NC-Congress coalition. At an age, when these people need rest and care, are made to come on roads for fulfillment of their genuine demands. This was alleged by BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while addressing the first meeting of Jammu district Unit of BJP Senior Citizens Cell.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, while expressing grave concern over the attitude of state’s coalition towards the senior citizens, said that it is indeed unfortunate that the people who have put the best years of their lives towards the society in different positions, both in government jobs and elsewhere, are being deprived of what they genuinely deserve. He said it has become a routine in Jammu & Kashmir state that people are forced to take on agitation path, be it a pensioner, government employee, unemployed technocrat, farmer, refugee, migrant etc.
Manhas said that for the quite some time, the government pensioners, whom we call the senior citizens, have been agitating over certain demands which are genuine and need to be fulfilled at the earliest.
