Farmers demands compensation for crops

KATHUA, March 22: The farmers of several villages of tehsil Hiranagar under the leadership of block president National Conference Dharam Paul Kundal and the tehsil president of Kisaan union Ramesh Chander Sharma urged the government of Jammu and Kashmir to give the compensation to the farmers for their major loss of wheat crops due to hails storms.
They submitted a memorandum to the coalition government through DC Kathua for taking an early action.
They said sudden hail storm with heavy rains worsely affeted the standing crops of wheat, Barseem and etc, while the farmers are already suffering from the several crises in their agriculture profession.
On the occasion the DC Kathua heard patiently to all the farmers and assured them to approach with their genuine demand to the higher authority and government of JK. In the deputation the farmers from several villages Kotpunu, Mangu Chack, Sultanpur Haria Chack, Haripur, Slalpur, DaliaJata, and Shaba Chack were present.
