Various political, social organizations observe martyrs day

Jammu , March 23: Martyrdom Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev was observed by different student, social and political organisations across the region today. Public functions, exhibitions and commemorative functions marked the occasion.
On the occasion of Martyrs day of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Rajguru, Shaheedi Divas programme was organized at BJP hqrs. Under the leadership of BJYM State President Munish Sharma. The portraits of these marytrs were garlanded by the senior leaders. Later over four dozen youth also joined the Yuva Morcha.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, while remembering the supreme sacrifices of thousands of patriotic Indians during the freedom struggle said that just remembering the martyrs once in a year is not enough. BJP Legislator Party leader Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta recalled the historic role played by Sardar Patel in reorganization of Indian states after independence and said that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerji contributed a lot towards ensuring the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. Patriotic people in J&K have always been subjected to torture, brutalities and Dr. Mookerji also sacrificed his life while facing the government’s the in human treatment.
National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that we are enjoying freedom and bost of being born in world’s largest democracy, but we forget the fact that this privilege has come to us due to the sacrifices of great Indians.

National Students Union of India (NSUI) today celebrated Shaheedi Diwas to remember the great heroes of India- Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who laid down their lives on this very day to make India a free nation.
A large number of NSUI activists gathered in University of Jammu under the leadership of Arjun Singh Pathania State General Secretaries and JU NSUI President Sarbjit Singh Randhawa and organised an impressive function to mark the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas.
Paying his tributes to martyrs, Pathania said that the sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev could not be forgotten, who laid their lives for the sake of the country. He said that the sacrifices of such great people could not be ignored, which had secured freedom for the country and its people. He demanded construction of a museum at Jammu dedicated to all the freedom fighters which may play a good role in infusing patriotism in J&K people.
District Congress Committee Jammu Urban too organised a function at PCC headquarter Shaheedi Chowk Jammu, today to observe the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Garu and Sukh Dev.

The DCC President Om Chopra, Ex-MLA presided over the function. Senior Vice President and former Deputy Chief Minster Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma, Vice President Yash Pal Khajuria, MLC Ravinder Sharma-Spokesperson, S. Amolak Singh (General Secretaries), Krishan Lal Gupta Rashid Choudhary-President NSUI were prominent those who attended.

Rich tributes were paid to the martyrs on the occasion and the speakers recalled their contribution in the freedom struggle of the country.

Members of Jammu-Kashmir Physiotherapist Association (JKPA) today held a remembrance of Shaheed-e-Aazam Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru on the day of their Shaheedi Divas to pay a florist tribute to their sacrifice.
The JKPA members gathered in the Park at Mubarak Mandi to commemorate the day. Dr. Vimal Singh, President JKPA said that these were the Epitome of the Great Indian Freedom Struggle. They have fought valiantly for their rights and our bright and luminous future. And in every age there is a need for certain revolutionaries to fight for their voice.

To pay the holy tribute on 23rd of March to martyr Bhagat Singh, Raj guru and Sukhdev the Nature-Mankind Friendly Global Movement has organized a mega conference on “Climate Change and Dehumanization” at Ramleela Ground Kathua. On the occasion the founder of Nature-Mankind Friendly Global Movement and former power minister Babu Singh termed the present social and political model of the world out dated and rotten due to which the dehumanization (deprivation, poverty, corruption, depletion of morale values, family values and patriotic values, unemployment, starvation) and the nature both have been facing the serious challenges of complete extinction.

The Vivekananda College of education Lakhanpur Kathua has organized cultural programme to celebrate the martyr day of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj guru, and Sukhdev. The students of the college presented patriotic songs and dramas on the life of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj guru, and Sukhdev. On the occasion a holy tribute was given by the chief guest Director of Youth and sports J.P Singh along with guest of honour DC toll tax. Omakar Nath, CEO K.K Gupta, RTO Shiv Kumar Gupta and Dy. Director Sh. Ashok Kumar and appreciated the performance of the students to throw the light on the life history of martyrs .

Jammu Regional Committee of CPI(M) organised a programme to pay homage to Saheed-e-Azam Baghat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru today
Party activists garlanded and showered flowers on his photo. Comrade Sham Prasad Kesar, Regional Secretary threw light on the revolutionary role played by the trio against British Imperialism. They were convinced that the establishment of proletarian dictatorship would only emancipate the working class from the exploitation of the ruling classes. Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru and many other such revolutionaries fought unto their last for freedom of the people from foreign yoke. Comrades Om Prakash, General Secretary, CITU, J&K, Ramesh Chand, Sagar Samnotra, Varun and Arshad Khan also spoke on the occasion.

DESH BHAGAT YADGAR COMMITTEE too hold function at Rani Park today on the occasion of 80th Martyrdom Anniversary of Shaheed-E-Aazm Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. The participants paid rich tributes to the Martyers who laid down their lives for the freedom of this Country from the yoke of British Imperialism, with the aim of making India , a SOCIALIST REPUBLIC .

In connection with Shaheed-i-Divas, Jai Jawan Jai Kissan Development Committee (JJJKDC), Jammu, organized a programme at Vikas Nagar to pay floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev.
The Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture HakSham Lal Sharma was chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the Minister highlighted the importance of the day and said that the ideals of these freedom fighters are still relevant in present system which is characterized by social, institutional and structural inequalities.
He also threw light on the life of Bhaghat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev Singh and said that the role of these great freedom fighters was a turning point in the course of country’s independence and due to their sacrifices the country achieved the freedom.
