| Bill to check ragging introduced | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 23 : The Minister of State for Higher Education, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma on behalf of Minister for Higher Education introduced a Bill to prohibit ragging in the educational institutions of the State, in the Legislative Assembly today.
Briefing about the objects and reasons of the Bill, the Minister said the practice of ragging in educational institutions has assumed alarming dimensions which needs to be curbed so as to make educational institutions ragging free. He said the Supreme Court has also taken strong note of the menace of ragging and has formulated guidelines to be introduced by University Grants Commission in educational institutions.
