'Gagan Damama Bajyo' presented at Abhinav theater | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 23:As part of Cultural Academy’s ongoing drama festival at Abhinav theatre, Natraj Natya Kunj presented Piyush Mishra’s play ‘Gagan Damama Bajyo’. It is a tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his compatriot.
According to Piyush Mishra the play talks about the ideology of Bhagat Singh and its relevance in today’s India. Through the play the writer has tried to highlight Singh’s dream for a free India.
Directed Abhishek Bharti ‘Gagan Damama Bajyo’ highlights the ideological leanings of Bhagat Singh and also tries to project his thinking pattern. Through his adroit directing skills Bharti very deftly created a prototype of socio-political scene of modern India against the background of Singh’s martyrdom.
Dr. Sudhir Mahajan informed that since Shaheed Bhagat Singh was hanged on this day way back in 1931, the academy felt it imperative to stage this play as a tribute to the great freedom fighter. What made ‘Gagan Damama Bajyo’ a class act was its superb presentation gelled with excellent acting by the participating crew which included Rohitashiv Sharma.
Moreover,Rishi Kumar was the production controller of the play while light design was done by Kumar A. Bharti. Surinder Manhas, Monika Sharma and Nirbhay Singh Salathia lent background voice to ‘Gagan Damama Bajyo’.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Raman Bakshi, Aditya Bharti, Rakesh Dogra, Tarsem Lal, Tania Sharma and Priyanka beside others.
