| Training of RO’s, AROs for second phase begins | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu , Mar 23: The second phase of training of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers appointed for forthcoming Panchyat elections began today at Tehsil headquarters Ramban and Banihal and will continue up to March 25.
In respect of ROs and AROs of Ramban and Gool Blocks training programme is being held at Conference Hall Maitra Ramban and for Ramsoo and Banihal Blocks at Higher Secondary School, Banihal. The District Panchayat Election Officer, Shabir Ahmad Bhat interacted with the ROs & AROs and impressed upon them to acquaint themselves fully with the Panchayati Raj Act and all rules and regulations so that they are able to conduct the elections in an efficient manner. He also laid stress on impartiality of the officer or officials appointed for Panchayat election.
It is pertinent mentioning here that Panchyat Elections in Ramban, Banihal, Ramsoo and Gool Blocks of this District are scheduled to be held May 16, 21, 25 and 29 respectively. There are 124 sarpanch constituencies and 832 panch constituencies, 48 Returning Officers and 92 assistant Returning Officers have been appointed for conducting elections in this District.
