| Court rejects bail of "rape" accused | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 23: Judicial magistrate, R S Pura, Manjeet Rai today rejected the bail application of the accused who had attempted to rape a 7-year-old girl at Kalyana few days back.
The judge observed that Rakesh Kumar alias Tillo of Kalyana was alleged to have committed the attempt to rape a minor which was non-bailable and of serious in nature.
So the accused could not claim bail as a matter of right, he said.
It would be pre-mature to comment upon the evidence collected till date as the investigation of the case was at its initial stage.
The judge said the accused applicant did not deserve any leniency in grant of bail and dismissed his bail application.
