| No death occurred due to avalanches in Kishtwar: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 24: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla today informed legislative Assembly that no death due to incidents of avalanches in any area of Kishtwar district has taken place during current fiscal.
Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo. He said that as many as 8 persons have died in District Kishtwar during the months of January and February 2011, but these didn’t die due to any natural calamity and as such no payment of ex-gratia in favour of next of kins of the deceased in terms of State Disaster Response Fund norms has been made.
He said that cause of death of one person namely Ghulam Nabi son of Khazar Wani, resident of Sukhnie Tehsil Marwah out of these 8 deaths reported is being enquired into and if the same is found to have happened because of any notified natural calamity, the relief as admissible under rules will be paid to the next of kin of the deceased.
