Secretariat Chalo march of technocrats foiled

JAMMU, Mar 24: Police today foiled protesting technocrats' 'Secretariat Chalo' attempt for Assembly Gherao in this winter capital of the state.
Demanding regularization, about 500 technocrats including women this afternoon assembled outside Press Club of Jammu to march towards Civil Secretariat but the attempt was successfully foiled by heavy deployment of police and para-military forces. Technocrats’ carrying placards and banners made several attempts to proceed towards the Secretariat Complex but police foiled it.
As per eye witnesses when the technocrats tried to march the police party swong into action and intrupted them.the police cane charged and drag the technocrats five girls got minorinjuries and 25 technocrats were injured during police action.Dr
maneet singh vice president of JKATA ,Rajiv chib,Azahar ahmed were beaten brutally and arrested at nowabad police station.Rajni bhagat,mohita sharma got injured. Speaking to the media Dr surinder Radotra president Dr yasir tak vice president Dr Rajeev Sharma Gen Sec. of JKATA said it is vey unfortunate that govt..is using force to supress their voice,and condemn the GENERAL DYRE attitude on a peace ful demonstrators.it is very shameful for the stat govt. that young scientist were sitting for the last 32 days on fast unto death and govtt. is turning a deaf ear to them. Meanwhile former Dy. Cm. and leader of PDP Muzzafer hussain beig and kunver bali Abdul rehman veei also visited the dharna site and condemn the cruel attitude of state p-olice and said that his party will fight for the cause of agriculture technocrats.
Amid anti-government slogans, technocrats were demanding regularisation in the Agriculture Department and alleged that for past few years, government despite assurances did not adjusted them. ‘’We are struggling since years and some of the technocrats have even got over-aged but government has absolutely turned blind eye to our genuine demand,’’ the agitating technocrats’ leader said.
He, however, demanded that government should at least come in black and white whether, the technocrats’ would be absorbed for jobs or not.
