Ayurvedic congress anguished over administrative inertia | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 24: Jammu and Kashmir chapter of all India Ayurvedic congress has expressed concern and anguish over administrative inertia and apathy of directorate of India system of medicines. Congress has in a handout issued here today said that though separate directorate is functioning since October 1987 and present incumbent is working as director since May 2005, legacy of decades old problems relating to rank and file of Indian system of medicine (ISM) continues even today and adhoc pattern of functioning has become established norm. Congress has added that during last two and half decades, 95 new dispensaries have been established without any sanction form concerned authority and the said institutions are being managed on so called internal management basis by withdrawing staff from regular sanctioned institutions thus precipitating process of crippling of regular institutions. Congress has asserted that pioneer schemes of Ayurvedic curative like Panchkarma, Khyar Sutra are also being managed on same temporary pattern, as a single staff personal in any category stands sanctioned for said important schemes. In the wake of these shortcomings, Jammu and Kashmir Ayurvedic congress has sought bifurcation of present state level directorate and establishment of provincial directorates for J&K divisions respectably. It has also sought regularization of non-sanctioned 95 dispensaries and provision of stall for 45 dispensaries which are functioning with the help of one medical officer only since 1882 besides making provision for necessary technical and non-technical staff for Pac karma. Khyar Sutra and Aryurvedic pharmacy and administrative staff for newly created districts.
