GEJAC to hold massive demonstration on April 7 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU: The Govt Employees Joint Action Committee (GEJAC), Jammu have resolved to hold massive demonstrations at all district techsil headquarters throughout Jammu province on April 7 to press the government for consideration of their demands. In a handout here today, the next course of action will be announced on 7th of April after meeting of the joint action committee. Their demands include release of 6th pay commission arrears in cash in two equal installments at the central Govt. pattern in favour of Govt., PSU employees and state pensioners, issuance of regularization order in favour of consolidated, contractual adhoc and only wage employees who have completed seven years services as agreed uipon by the Govt. from time to time, issuance or orders for release of 10% DA in favour of PUS employees as well and extend budgetary support to the deserving PSU’s and implementation of 6th pay commission report . Other demands included removal of pay anomalies of clerical and other caders on Govt.\PSUs, release of 6% DA in favour of Govt.\ PUS employees and pensioners of the state and enhancement of retirement age from 58 year to 60 years. They, meanwhile, warned the government that if their demands are not met at the earliest, they will have no other alterantive but to intensify agitational programme. Meanwhile, they appealed all the employees of Jammu province to remain united under the banner of GEJAC.
