Incorporate 73rd, 74th amendments in Panchyat polls: BSP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March 24 State President Bahujan Samaj Party Tulsi Dass Langeh expressed concern over the dictatorial attitude of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for holding Panchayat elections without implementing 73rd and 74th amendment of Indian Constitution ignoring the sentiments of public . Langeh said the adamant attitude of coalition Govt. headed by Omar Abdullah is presumed that they are not interested to decentralizing the power at grass root level. He said that holding of elections without implementing 73rd and 74th amendment will be futile exercise. BSP leader said from the past record of the State government shows whosever may be holding region were never serious for decentralization of power at lower level, so that common man could not reap the fruit of democracy that is why ten years before after 23 years and how after gap of five years Panchayat elections are being held just for getting crores of rupees as funds from the central Govt. BSP leader urged upon the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to incorporate the amendment of 73rd and 74th of Indian constitution in the J&K Panchayat Raj Act by passing the same in the ongoing Budget session of J&K Assembly, enabling the people of Jammu and Kashmir to reap the fruits of democracy at grass root level.
