EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 25: Former convener of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS) LeelaKaran Sharma today criticized Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) for misbehaving and abusing wife of martyr cop DySP Varinder Singh Jaipuria.
Angry at the unruly treatment by the Jammu Kashmir Police to Shabnam Jaipuria, wife of Late DySP Varinder Singh Jaipuria, Sharma referred the treatment as insult to the martyr who laid down his life for the sake of motherland. He added that it is a matter of shame for police to humiliate family of Late Dy SP Varinder Singh who was a brave police officer.
LeelaKaran said that he will write to the Chairman of State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) and also file a case against guilty police officials in the state High Court in this context. LeelaKaran said that police demanded money from the son of martyr police official. On this, the son of late DySP rang up her mother, added LeelaKaran. He maintained that wife of late Jaipuria was humiliated and police used offensive language, which she resisted and clashes followed.
