| Proposal of deploying security on religious places under active consideration of State Government | | | Srinagar, Nov 14 After the deadly attack on a religious leader at Tahab Pulwama on November 10 during Friday prayers, State Government has brought religious places and clerics of various sects under security cover. The steps are being taken for tightening the security on religious places and clerics of various sects are being offered security. Highly placed informed sources while disclosing this to KNS revealed that the decision to bring mosques, temples and gurdwaras under the security cover has been taken to avoid repeating of a Tahab like carnage in the valley in future. The State Government, according to sources, is actively considering the proposal of security agencies where in they have suggested deploying of security on religious congregations particularly on the eve of Friday prayers in valley. The State Government is immediately intending to deploy security around Dargah Hazratbal, historical Jamia Masjid Srinagar and mosques at district headquarters on the eve of Friday prayers. Meanwhile it has been learnt that security has been provided to the religious preacher who escaped unhurt during an attack at Tahab on November 10. However Government has choosen not to make a formal announcement in this connection. |
