| Kissan movement demands ex-gratia for hailstorm hit | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, Mar 25 : The Kisaan Movement held a protest in favour of their demand to give cover-up for the major loss of rabi standing crops due to the hail storms of high intensity few day back, at Kathua secretariat. The protest was led by the district convener Hurmat Singh, general secretary and Daya Ram Sharma and urged the state coalition government to full fill their long pending genuine demands such as to increase the compensation rate per kanal to drought affected farmers per kanal, to open the procurement centers, facilities of life and health insurance to the farmers and labourers of the state by framing a concrete and constructive policy.
They urged the government to increase the compensation which has been fixed by the state government per kanal because it was the mockery with the farmers who were already facing the crisis and the compensation should increased otherwise Kisaan movement would launch state wide agitation in favour of their long pending genuine demands. On the occasion, Aswhani Sharma, Surinder (Shindu), Karan Singh, Tarsem Saini, Sat Paul Saini were present.
