| Better road connectivity plays pivotal role for social transformation: Charak | | | JAMMU, NOV 14 Better road connectivity plays pivotal role for socio-economic transformation, said the Minister for R&B Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak while inaugurating the black topping work of Patoli-Karwal 4 kms road today, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 45 lakh, benefiting over 6000 people of the area. The Minister said that government is vigorously pursing its agenda to uplift the socio-economic conditions of the people particularly living in rural and backward areas. Mr. Charak said that due to the bold and sincere efforts of the Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad the state is fastly progressing on all fronts adding the day is not far away when our state would be a model state of the country. The Minister said that due to the concerted efforts of the Chief Minister various developmental projects have been taken up under double and triple shifts working system are near completion in the state. Assuring the people that all the un-connected villages and hamlets would be connected with urban areas by 2009 under Bharat Nirman Programme launched across the country and Jammu and Kashmir is also beneficiary. He said under this programme the government have decided to set up new works divisions for speedy completion of developmental projects in the State. The Minister stressed upon the Engineers and officers to redouble their efforts and work with devotion and dedication for early completion of all on going developmental projects so that the benefits of these projects would reach to the people at the earliest. He directed them to ensure the use of quality material and monitor the quality execution of developmental projects. On the occasion several deputations of the area called on the Minister and apprised him about their demands which include black topping of tar-rood-ring road, providing of tapped water supply facilities and uninterrupted power supply. They also hailed the steps taken by the Azad led government for speedy development and eradication of corruption from the state. The Minister gave a patient hearing to the people and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into sympathetically. |
