662 dwelling units for urban poor in Srinagar on anvil: Dy CM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 25: Jammu and Kashmir government has formulated Rs 22.37 crore project for construction of 622 dwelling units for urban poor living within the limits of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, adding under the project 246 dwelling units would be constructed in Sumerbug, 100 in Lepar Colony at Baharar, 36 at Idgah Tibitian Colony and 240 at Wanganpora. This was stated by the Deputy Chief Minister while replying to the question by Peer Afaq Ahmad in the Legislative Assembly here today. Deputy Chief Minister said that project for construction of dwelling units at Waganpora for rehabilitation of the sweepers of Zahidpora, Tujgari Mohalla and Bachi Darwaza was put to tenders in March and July 2010 but no response was received. Meanwhile, Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma has said that proposal for opening of 10 sub health centres and 1 Primary health centre for setting up in each constituency of erstwhile Doda district have been forwarded to Planning & Development Department for accord of concurrence. This was stated by the Minister while replying to a clubbed question by Ghulam Mohammed Saroori in the Legislative Assembly here today. Minister said that Planning & Development Department has taken a view of all pending District Development Board (DDB) decisions and departmental proposals for creation and upgradation of health institutions. He said through correspondence the P&D Department have been advised to revisit these proposals in view of huge financial implications and assesses minimum creation of staff required. In reply to another question by M.Y. Shah, the Minister said that department is presently formulating a proposal for establishment and upgradation of various health institutions on bare minimum basis giving due representation to the requirements of each constituency in the State.
