| Electronic metering installation in full swing: Jora | | Rs. 52.81 crore realized in power division Jammu | |
JAMMU, NOVEMBER 14 Revenue of Rs. 52.81 crore has been realized by the M&RE power division Jammu during Ist seven months of the current financial year. This was revealed at a review meeting of PDD Jammu division held here today, chaired by the Minister for Power Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora. Chief Engineer M&RE Mr. D. S. Pawar told the meeting that the areas where electronic meters have been installed, the power load has been reduced to one third. He said the work of installing more meters in other areas is in progress. Mr. Jora directed the functionaries of PDD to carry forward the work of installing meters in the remaining areas to check misuse of power and also provide un-interrupted power supply. Expressing satisfaction over realization of revenue, the Minister asked the authorities field staff of the department to redouble their efforts for collection of revenue to achieve the fixed targets end of the year. He also requested the consumers to cooperate with the functionary of PDD department for installation of meters and realization of revenue. It was also decided in the meeting that the JE’s of the department would perform their duty as Feeder Manager, and would be responsible for the theft of power from their respective feeding stations. Every month the JE would submit his report to the concerned Assistant Executive Engineer. Besides others the meeting was attended by Superintendent Engineer Mr. D. K. Gupta, Executive Engineer Mr. Surinder Koul, Executive Engineer, AE’s and JE’s of the department.
