JKAACL discussed contemporary trends Urdu short story and its impact

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 26: Contemporary trends in Urdu Short Story and its impact on various genres were today discussed in a function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
The function was organized here at the headquarters of the Academy, Lal Mandi, and Srinagar in connection with release of latest short story compilation by noted short story writer Mushtaq Mehdi under the title “Aangan Main Woh”.
The function was presided over by Prof. Majeed Muzmir, Head P. G. Deptt of Urdu, Kashmir University, while noted scholar Mr. Gh. Nabi Khayal was chief guest on the occasion.
In his welcome address, Ashraf Tak, Chief Editor, presented a brief resume of the activities, which the Academy is performing for the promotion of art, culture and languages in the state.
Satish Vimal presented a detailed paper in which he described the contemporary tends in Urdu Short Story and said that the Urdu Short Story has touched new heights and is competing with the international standards.
