| Chontra Mata yatra arrangements discussed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, MAR 26- To discuss arrangements for smooth conduct of Mahamaya Chontra Mata Annual Yatra during coming Navratras starting from April,04, a meeting of District Officers and Mahamaya Chontra Mata Prabandak Committee members was held here under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. Baseer Ahmed Khan.
Threadbare discussions were held on arrangements like drinking water, power supply, security, first-aid, transport and sanitation at the Shrine site and enroute. DDC directed the officers concerned to put in their best efforts in making available safe drinking water to pilgrims besides uninterrupted power supply. He also called upon the officers of Health to deploy adequate medical staff with medicines and ambulance at vintage points. He also directed Assistant Commissioner Development, Udhampur to complete the work of diversion, bridal path and clearance of road from Dhannu to Rang.
Mr. Khan asked the Executive Engineer R&B to repair the roads from Ramnagar to Dhanno, Kirmoo to Rang and Thail to Mahamaya Mata Chontra for the smooth conduct of the yatra. The Police would ensure security arrangements during Navratra days. He also asked the officers of PWD and Rural Development Department to initiate necessary repair on link road, footpath and stairs leading to the Shrine for the comfortable pilgrimage. He also asked Tehsildar Ramnagar to personally supervise all pre- yatra arrangement for the smooth conduct of the yatra.
Among other, Executive Engineers, PHE, PWD,PDD and PMGSY, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Regional Traansport Officer, Tehsildar Ramnagar, President Shri Chontra Mata Prabansak Committee attended the meeting.
