| J&K to probe misuse of Shiv Khori Shrine Board Funds | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 26: As per Jammu and Kashmir Shiv Khori Shrine Act; administration, management and governance of the shrine is vested in the Board, adding that composition of the Board which includes officers as well as persons nominated by the government has been provided in Act itself.
This was stated by Tourism Minister while replying to a question by Baldev Raj Sharma in the Legislative Assembly here today. Minister said that government has notified the nominated members of the Board in terms of the provisions of the Act. He said that it is also provided in the Act that Member of the legislative Assembly representing the area, if he be a Hindu, will be a special invitee at the meetings of the Board with right to vote.
Minister said that Shrine Board funds are being utilized for the purposes envisaged in the Act like providing facility for smooth performance of worship, sanitation of track and cave besides arrangements of electricity, drinking water and security.
