| Water scarcity in Roop Nagar area being addressed soon: Taj | | Calling Attention Notice | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 26: Minister for PHE Taj Mohi-ud-Din today informed the House that the department intends to provide adequate drinking water to the inhabitants of Roop Nagar, sectors 7, 8 and 9.
At present, water supply to sector 7 is partially provided / covered from stage IIIrd Roopnagar through OHT. The remaining requirement of sector 7, 8 and 9 which are at higher contour, are proposed to be addressed from stage-IVth Roopnagar by laying Gravity Main from 1.50 lakhs gallons capacity GSR as per availability of funds.
The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Bharat Bushan regarding the issue. He said the water supply position to the JDA Colony Roopnagar will be further improved after commissioning of the Gravity Main of 16”/14” dia pipe which is being laid down from Lohar to Roopnagar Stage-IIIrd.
