EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 26: Municipal Corporation Jammu, the Municipal Veterinary Officer alongwith field staff conducted a drive against the adulteration of milk in the areas of Raghunath Bazar, Shahidi Chowk, Talab khaktian, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Pacca Danga, Panjthirthi etc. During the drive 195 Nos. of milk cans were checked, out of which 04 Nos. of milk cans which were of sub-standard quality / not fit for human consumption were destroyed on spot. Further the team also visited the areas of Bakshi Nagar, KC Chowk, Bus stand etc. and seized polythene carry bags from the shopkeepers, vendors and other outlets in these areas. The fine was charged as fine from defaulters on spot who were using the polythene carry bags. Apart from this, the team had visited the meat shops in the areas of Talab Tillo, Shakti Nagar, Talab Khatian and charged fine from the defaulters who were selling the unstamped meat. Besides this, while continuing the drive against the Stray animals, the team had also lifted 17 no’s stray animals from the areas of Ambphalla, Rehari, Panjthirthi, Janipur, Paloura, Muthi, Canal Road, Jewel, Bakshi Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Narwal etc., and impounded the stray animals in Municipal Cattle Pound. A total fine of Rs. 7710.00 was charged from the defaulters on spot.
