| JSM, BJP stages walk out over delimitation issue | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 26: The issue of Delimitation resurfaced in the State Legislative Assembly today as the lone Jammu State Morcha (JSM) legislator Ashwani Sharma joined by Bharatiya Janata Party members staged walk-out from the House in protest against the government’s refusal to respond over the ‘long pending’ demand of implementing Delimitation Commission .
JSM MLA Ashwani Sharma during Zero Hour raised the issue of ‘Delimitation’ and sought reply from the government.
“Non implementation of delimitation is gross injustice with the Jammu region…. Without bringing Delimitation Commission into force, all the three regions of the state cannot be equally treated," Ashwani said.
He said the issue would not only help in the overall development of the state but also help in removing regional disparities.
The BJP legislators also backed the JSM MLA over the issue and raised slogans “Delimitation Lagoo Karo,” before jointly staging a walk-out from the House.
