Hope Pak Leaders Accept PM's Invite to Mohali: Farooq | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR | MAR 26 : Union Minister Farooq Abdullah today expressed the hope that Pakistani leaders will accept Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's invitation to visit Mohali for the World Cup cricket semifinal between India and Pakistan next week. "I hope that the Pakistani leaders will understand the feelings and sentiment behind the Prime Minister's invitation and come to watch the semi final at Mohali," Abdullah, who is also president Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association, told reporters on the sidelines of a function here. Singh has invited Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to watch the semifinal on Wednesday. In response to a question, Abdullah said the invitation to the cricket match was not an excuse but a good thinking as the leaders will "get an opportunity to talk and pave way for improvement in relations between the two countries". "We hope that the game is good and the two sides play well. A new chapter will be added to the India-Pakistan story," he added.
