| Chess tourney ends | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Mar 27: Jammu And Kashmir State Chess Association, affiliated to All India Chess Federation, organized 39th Jammu and Kashmir Chess Championship which concluded today.
The event was inaugurated on March 22, 2011 by its President Comrade Abdul Rashid with the three categories of participants that is sub-junior under 9 years age Junior under 19 years and the senior above 19 years there are separate championship for male and female players.
In the sub junior category, six year old Mehroz Sajjad, d/o Dr. Syed Sajjad Hussain the youngest player of the Championship who secured Ist position in females, Zaraib Ashai secured Ist position under 15 years, Salah Rashid Ist under 17 and Muneera Bashir Ist under 19 category.
In the mens category, Fasal Farooq secured Ist position in seniors Mohab secured Ist position under 25 years, Nayeem shafi Ist under 19 Aazim Rashid Ist under 15, Hyder mushtaq Ist under 11 and syed Rozal Sajjad Secured Ist position in Sub Junior under 9 category.
The players who have topped the state Chess Championship will be selected for the National and International Chess Championship .
