| Post-harvest management camp organized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 27: A Fruit Vegetable Growers Awareness camp on post-harvest Management of Agri/ Hirti Produce was organized under MRNI at Tomator- Morh, Kudh in Chenani block by the department of Horticulture Planning and marketing under the chairmanship of V.K. Langer, Area marketing Officer, Udhampur-Doda Areas.
Large number of fruit & Vegetable growers from Kudh, Chenani, Dogra, Tandahar, Tomator Morh and other areas attended the camp to know the latest farmer-oriented schemes and market trends.
V.K. Langer in his address informed the participating potential fruit growers that the department has established one wholesale Fruit mandi at Udhampur where in all the fruit/ vegetable growers can market their commercial produce.
V.K. Sharma, AGMO Udhampur apprised the growers community that the department of Horticulture Planning & Marketing is a farmer- friendly and is ready to extent all possible help to the growers in respect of post-harvest and marketing process.
Agriculture Extension Officer Chennai Zerive Akhtar, Horticulture Development Officer Chenani Rajesh Gupta and officers from allied sectors also addressed the fruit/ vegetable growers community.
Prominent growers namely Shanker Singh, Padam Dev Singh, Naseeb Chand , and others of the area also deliberated and encouraged the participating growers to come forward and avail the various schemes for their upliftment and prosperity.
