EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 27: Gharota police on Sunday claimed to have arrested chairman and secretary of Priya Darshni Institute of Management and Sciences in Kote area in a fraud case, following complaints by the students.
Informed sources said that the Grata police received complaints from some students and their parents with the police alleging that the Priya Darshni management has cheated them by conducting fake examinations of BBA and BCA part first, second and third years, despite the university has not given them registration number.
"College management had collected applications forms and fee from the students but they (college authorities) had not submitted the same in the Jammu University," the aggrieved students alleged. The aggrieved students again alleged that college management even dared to conduct their examination using fake question papers and answer books, which is being used by the university, without caring about the career of the students.
When they (students) approached the college chairman, aggrieved students alleged that the chairman Sunil Sahni pledged his innocent saying he was not involved in the incident and threw all the responsibility on a lecturer Joginder. Acting on the complaint, the Gharota SHO alongwith SDPO Akhnoor Mushtaq Choudhary conducted raids and arrested chairman of the institute Sunil Sahni and college secretary Anil Sahni while a manhunt has been launched to nab absconding lecturer Joginder Sharma.
SDPO Mushtaq Choudhary, when contacted said that they have lodged a case at Police Station Grota and investigation in the case is on. Police official said that they have deputed different police teams to apprehend the absconding teacher whose name in the fake examination also figured in the complaint.
Controller Examination, Jammu University Prof G.M. Bhat, when contacted, informed that they had received a written complaint from a victim student. "We have been investigating the matter and action likely," he informed.
