BJP reiterates demand for delimitation to end discrimination
3/28/2011 10:24:15 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 28: Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has said that the only panacea to end repeated discrimination with Jammu is its political empowerment, which can be achieved by fair and early delimitation in the state.
Addressing a conference at party headquater, BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas said that Jammu has been subjected to repeated discrimination in all matters and at all levels by the successive Kashmir-centric government in the state.
Be it National Conference, PDP-Congress or NC-Congress, Kashmir has always been preferred over Jammu as a result of which there is resentment among the masses, he said.
Announcing a series of programmes to be undertaken in the near future over a number of issues like price rise, corruption, black money, discrimination with Jammu and plight of refugees, farmers, unemployed youth etc, Manhas said that on 6th April, the 31st foundation day of BJP, a massive “Jan Jagran” campaign will be launched throughout the state at different levels with a motive to educate people about the anti-people, anti-poor, anti-national and pro-separatist policies being persuaded by the state’s coalition as well as centre’s UPA.
This will conclude on June 23, the martyrdom day of Shyama Prasad Mookerji. Besides parent body, various morchas and cells too will organise such programmes by organising scooter ralies, nukkad meetings, seminars, protests, dharnas and door to door contacts.
After completion of these programmes, finally, more aggressive agitation with the slogan of “Do or Die “will be launched on October 24 over the issue of discrimination and delay in holding delimitation.
