Agitating physiotherapists demanding govt jobs arrested | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 28: Police on Monday arrested physiotherapists who were staging a protest against the state government for not providing government jobs to them. Agitating physiotherapists demonstrated outside SMGS Hospital here. They were arrested while attempting to march towards the Civil Secretariat. "We have been cheated by the state government, as they gave us the false promise that 103 will be absorbed. Now, we want assurance for the same. Second demand is to constitute a council in our state, as there exits none," said Neha Bakshi, a physiotherapist. "We were holding a peaceful protest to press our demands and were marching towards the Secretariat, but the policemen arrested our seniors, as we are protesting since last 109 days," she added. She further said they have been silently protesting, but there was no reaction from the concerned authorities. Over 50 physiotherapists, who have been silently protesting for the past 109 days, said that their demands were genuine and the general public ought to know their plight.
