SRS expresses concern over increase in fees by private schools | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 28: A deputation of the parents of the students of private schools, Jammu met state president of Shri Ram Sena (SRS), Rajiv Mahajan with their grievances against the management of private schools. Addressing a conference, Rajiv Mahajan said that parents are criticizing the management of private schools as most of them have enhanced the school fee, admission fee and cost of the school diary and uniform this year. The deputations have complained that the Private schools have increased the Annual fee comparing to the last year from Rs.4500 to Rs.6000 from each students who are studying in the same school. In addition to this, the admission fee is being charged to the tune of Rs.25000 to Rs.30000 from each student, the monthly fee has been enhanced from Rs.1200 to Rs.1500 thus causing great injustice to the students of Private Schools. The deputationists have also complained that the Private Schools has also introduced the School diary against the cost of Rs.150 which values Rs.50 in the market as only the name of the School is printed on the diary issued by the Private Schools. Rajiv Mahajan, has appealed to the concerned authorities to re-view their admission fee, annual fee and other charges, cost of the dairy, and uniform of the school in the interest of the public in general and in the interest of the administration of the schools. He said the Government had directed the Pvt. Schools to admit about 25% students of BPL in their institution without charging any fee from them. Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Bal Krishan Arora, Ajay Gupta, Pawan Choudhary, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Parul Gupta besides others.
