JMC clears 54 building permission cases

Jammu, Mar 28: A meeting of Building Operation Controlling Authority was held today in which the building permission cases were examined and 54 of building permission cases were cleared.
Besides the chairman S.C Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu, other members of Building Operation Controlling Authority include Joint Commissioner (Adm), Joint Commissioner (Works) and Senior Town Planner of Jammu Municipal Corporation who attended the meeting.
The building permissions cases cleared today shall generate revenue of Rs. 8.00 (Eight Lacs) for Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Besides this, S.C Sawheny, himself supervised the drive conducted by the Enforcement Staff for the removal of hoardings, sign boards, kiosks, banners etc in the areas of Canal Road, Talab Tillo, Bohri, Gandhi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar etc. which were placed upon public places / electric poles by various business establishments, institutions, agencies, firms without permission.
During the drive the team seized 6 truck loads of such material and impounded it to the Municipal Yard at Town Hall, Jammu.
In another move, the municipal veterinary officer alongwith field staff conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and visited the areas of Sarwal, Rehari Colony, Rajpura, Shiv Nagar, Subash Nagar, Paloura etc.
During the drive 98 milk cans were checked out of which 2 milk cans which were not fit for human consumption were destroyed on spot.
Further continuing the drive to check the menace of stray animals, the team had also visited the areas of Bakshi Nagar, Rehari, Panjthirthi, Circular Road, Canal Road, Talab Tillo, Janipur, Muthi, Narwal, Railway Road, Channi, Kunjwani, Gandhi Nagar, Satwari, etc and lifted 12 no’s of stray animals from these areas. The stray animals were impounded in the Municipal Cattle Pound. A total amount of Rs. 3765.00 was charged as fine from the erring milk vendors and owners of stray animals.
