SBI Samba organises bankers meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Samba Mar 28: Lead Bank Office (SBI) Samba organized meeting of bankers and district officers of various government departments of Samba district here today. Chaired by District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mubarak Singh. DDC threadbare reviewed the working of SGSY/JKSES/SC-T/KVB/KVIB/DIC/SJSRY with special emphasis on Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Scheme, small and medium enterprises DIR,SHG’s, KCC, Swarojgar Credit Cards, Women Beneficiaries in general and financial literacy in particular. He took detailed stock of SBI R-SETI and separate setting up of financial Literacy Credit Counseling Centre, road map to provide banking services and progress of services in unbanked areas through BC/BF model by banks. Director, SBI R- SETI, M.K.Bhat recently posted in the District apprised the House that the same is going to be started before the close of current fiscal on rented premises at Vijaypur. Lead district manager, R.K. Mehta apprised that a sum of Rs.170 crores was disbursed upto December 2010, out of which Rs.116 crores was dispensed under priority sector covering agriculture/small enterprises/micro credit/retail/housing, education and others, thereby recording an achievement of 80% upto December, 2010. Against a bench mark of 40% under PS lending, the bankers in the district have achieved aprrox. 57%, this was lauded by the house. District Samba is leading in the state so far as the Credit-Deposit Ratio is concerned with 57% achievement. The chairman, was happy to know that upto February 2011, the bankers in the District have achieved ACP 2010/11 and appreciated to surpass the goals with fair margin by the end of the year. DDC Singh called for more concerted efforts from banks and line departments to give requisite fillip to rural credit dispensation particularly to agriculture/ SHG’s and told the participants while the targets are indicative, sky is the limit to achieve and contribute in the development of the District to ensure socio economic justice. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Vikram, Smriti Bhagat, S.L. Koul, S.S. Chib, Anil Gupta, Sant Ram and Pardeep Manhas besides others.
