Shahzad welcomed the proposal of setting Bridge factory in J&K | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 28: In a press release senior PDP leader Shahzad khan has welcomed the Union Railway Minister’s railway budget proposal of setting up a Bridge Factory in J&K and a state-of-art Institute for Tunnel and Bridge Engineering in Jammu. Appreciating the initiative by the ministry, he requested that the institute should be set up in the border district of Rajouri as it will give a boost to its economy besides the opening of the Mughal road has shortened the distance between Kashmir and Rajouri which will be an added advantage. Khan further said that the Rajouri is at equidistance from Reasi, Poonch, Mahore and also Jammu. Moreover, the area has a pleasant climatic condition, a conducive, peaceful and clean environment suitable for an educational and research institution. Regretting over the apathetic attitude of the Tourism Department, Khan said that time and again the said department was approached to develop tourism in that part of the state too but it is yet to fully exploit the tourist destinations for spiritual, adventure and nature loving tourism, the railway tracks and air service will connect the region with the mainstream. Besides, the coming up of the Institute will give an extra boost to it. Lambasting the present NC led coalition government, Shahzad said that it has failed on all fronts in providing infrastructural facilities and carrying on developmental works. The esteemed central schemes including the Bharat Nirman is a totally defunct in case of Rajouri.
