| Farmers’ field day organized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAJOURI, Mar 28 : SKUAST-J organised farmers’ fare or field day at village Saranoo District Rajouri and an exhibition was also organized by KVK, Rajouri.
Agriculture and allied departments like Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, District Industries Centre, Rajouri, ATMA, J&K Bank and many private sector undertakings participated.
Army also provided veterinary hospital activities under Sadbhavana. More than 250 farmers from distant areas participated.
Farmers Day was inaugurated by Dr B. Mishra, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu. During his address, Dr Mishra advised University/KVK scientists to dedicate their services/activities for the benefit of the farmers through improved varieties, introduction of hybrids and fast dissemination of University’s technologies in agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, animal husbandry, mushroom, bee-keeping and water conservation. He also assured the enhanced extension activities, more number of FLDs, training of farmers and many other important activities in future. During the mela, he also honoured the best farmers of the area.
