Verma reviews functioning of private schools | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MARCH 28- Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma convened a meeting of Principals and representatives of privates schools of Jammu district to discuss the functioning of the private schools. The meeting was organized by Director School Education, Jammu, Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi. Chief Education Officer, Natha Ram, Personnel Officer Development, Mrs Narupa Rai, Principal SIE, Mr Kuldeep Sharma, officers of Education department and Principals and representatives of private schools participated in the meeting. Threadbare discussions were held about the functioning of the private schools. Verma expressed dissatisfaction over of various schools complaints of some parents against some private schools who are indulged in over charging on uniforms, books, note books and admission fee etc. He said that the uniforms should be of good quality but should be given on concession rate. He said that the teachers engaged by private schools should be qualified. Qureshi while speaking on the occasion divulged that a core committee of principals of reputed private schools has been constituted to study the issues of raised by the parents of the students and the said committee shall submit its report within a week’s time. The Principals also putforth various issues and problems being faced by them for the smooth functioning of their respective schools.
