Upper house gives nod to 6 bills | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 28: State legislative Council today passed six Bills by voice vote following their introduction in the House. The Bills are (L.A. Bill No. 6 of 2011) regarding provision of effective delivery of public services to the people of the state within specified time limit and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto, (L.A. Bill No. 1 of 2011) pertaining to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2006 and (L.A. Bill No. 2 of 2011) pertaining to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Special Provisions) Act, 2010. All the three Bills were moved by Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather. Another Bill moved by Minister for Tourism Nawang Rigzin Jora regarding amendment of J &K Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1978 (L.A. Bill No 3 of 2011) was also passed. The Bill moved by Medical Education Minister R S Chib pertaining to amend the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act No. 59 of 1988 in its application to the State of Jammu and Kashmir (L.A. Bill No. 5 of 2011) was also passed. Yet another Bill moved by Minister of State for Higher Education Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma regarding prohibiting ragging in educational institutions in the State of Jammu and Kashmir (L.A. Bill No. 4 of 2011) was also passed by the House by voice vote.
