SUMIT SHARMA
JAMMU, Mar 28: Sincerity of education department once again came under scanner when it promoted the junior most as lecturer leaving the seniors in high and dry.
The alleged nepotism came to lime light when a junior teacher Ram Paul Sharma of Tata Pani School was promoted as lecturer at the behest of senior most. Seniors who were aggrieved of the biasness at the hands of their department approached Chief Minster’s grievance cell and lodged complaints under number 36601 and 9225 in which it was alleged that junior most teacher Ram Paul Sharma has been elevated on the name of senior Ram Paul Sharma who stood in serial number 2 of seniority list of Post Graduation master in the discipline of mathematics.
“Actually senior Ram Paul who is double MA in Mathematics and Economics as well has already been elevated as lecturer in Economics subject w.e.f March 1993.Since he has already been elevated, junior teacher Ram Paul Sharma who stood on serial number 202 was given benefits of senior Ram Paul in the seniority list of Post Graduation teachers and was elevated in mathematics.”
But despite lodging of repeated complaints in the CM cell vide numbers 6601, 9225, 11095; nothing concrete came out of these. They alleged that case was represented to the education department in the year 2008 and number of repeated reminders were given, but no consideration was given here also.
Finally, the same department, put forwarded the astonishing reply to the CM cell when it categorically refuted the issuance of the same, though the copy of seniority list of plus 2 lecturer under order number Edu/v/349 dated 23/11/2007 issued on 30/9/2007 is in possession of Early Times
Further more, the same department, at its initial stage admitted discrepancy vide letter number 328 dated 30/11/2009 bearing the signature of director of school education, the aggrieved teachers alleged. They said that after rushing from pillar to post, they brought the matter in the notice of Political Advisor to Chief Minister Davinder Rana who ordered inquiry into the matter, reply of education is still awaited. However, Commissioner/Secretary Education Naseem Lanker threw the ball in the court of the director education.
