2 Bills rejected, 4 withdrawn in LC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MAR 29- As many as 6 Private Members Bills (PMB) were introduced in Legislative Council today, of which two were rejected and four withdrawn following assurances of the government. The Bill pertaining to accord of ST status to all Paharis of Karnah, Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Budgam, Poonch, Rajouri and Mahore area of Reasi District, moved by Mohammad Rafiq Shah was rejected by the House. Another Bill “the House resolves that in an honest endeavour to resolve Kashmir issue, the government of India must proximately enter into a meaningful and result oriented dialogue with all the stake-holders including Pakistan”, moved by Murtaza Ahmad Khan was also rejected. The remaining four Bills pertaining to increase of Constituency Development Fund for legislators from Rs 50 lakh to Rs. 1 crore moved by Vijaya Bakaya, establishment of Disaster Management Offices in hilly districts especially in Leh, Kargil, Doda, Poonch and Rajouri, moved jointly by Aga Syed Ahmad Rizvi and Narboo Gialchan, formulation of rules and regulations and policies to impart moral values, education and create awareness among the women folk about the welfare schemes launched by the state and central governments under Social Welfare, NRHM, Khadi, Handloom, Handicraft schemes and adult education to generate employment for the said folk, moved by Naresh Kumar Gupta and the Bill related to computerization of official records of all the government departments in the official language of Urdu, moved by Mohammad Rashid Qureshi were withdrawn by the Members after the assurance by the government to take care of these issues.
