Jedians collaborate with Wills Lifestyle India for fashion event | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 29: JD Institute of Fashion Technology is associating with Wills lifestyle India Fashion week (WIFW), Asia's biggest business of fashion event which will showcase the best impulses of the fashion industry offering five enthralling days of inspiration, inventiveness and imagination aligned with prolific business opportunities. The Autumn Winter 2011 edition will witness participation from 141 designers, including an unprecedented 77 on the runways with their trend casting. The 5 day fashion trade event gets bigger and better with increase in buyer participation and the support of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, facilitating buyers and media from across the world. 41 runway shows showcasing the design caliber of India's finest established and young designers will be staged at Hall No. 18, India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from April 6.-10, 2011. This year three JD alumnus designers-Urvashi Kaur, Kartikeya & Isha(Dozakh) andNiket & Jainee are also showcasing at the fashion week. The event plans to host various seminars and activities to experiment and explore the various facets of fashion in India. JD now becoming a major institutional partner of the event would mean that students of JD would get to rub shoulders with the likes of Tarun Tahliani, Ritu Kumar, Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi and all the top brass designers of India. The students would also get to display their creation at the JD lounge that would be set up a t the venue of the fashion week. Also they would get a chance, to be a part of series of workshops that would be held at the same venue and would be conducted by eminent personalities of the fashion world. In order to select the participating students for the event a stringent selection process was undertaken at the Jammu centre of JD Institute, wherein the students had to submit their design creations an then undergo a rigorous jury, out of that process 6 students were short listed to be a part of the event. Maansi Gupta, Director JD Jammu said its every Jediiians dream to be at The Fashion Week - The Ultimate Destination Where Business Meets Absolute Fashion! JD Jammu's student designers will be in the capital to attend the fashion week and meet the designers who will showcase at the fashion week. They will learn the various techniques of garment design and construction and also the art of presentation.
