| Bamboo Awareness cum Promotional Campaign held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SAMBA, MAR 29- For giving impetus to bamboo cultivation in the Samba District, a Bamboo Awareness cum Promotional Campaign at District Level was organized at the Nandni Hills, District Administrative Complex under National Bamboo Mission.
The District Development Commissioner, Samba, Mr Mubarak Singh and Chairman Bamboo Development Agency, Samba inaugurated Bamboo Awareness Campaign hosted by Chief Agriculture Officer, This campaign reflected a large participation of Agriculture Officers, besides other Departments associated with Bamboo Development Agency, who highlighted new technologies by way of laid stalls highlighting the new advances in the field of Bamboo cultivation for successful management. DDC addressed the gathering of around 200 farmers and stressed for organizing more of such farmer friendly programmes for enlightening them with new technologies and innovations and laid stress on intensive extension and appealed farmers to avail the benefits of various ongoing schemes and to adopt diversification approach by raising bamboo, mushroom cultivation, bee-keeping, sericulture, floriculture etc. so as to increase income for socio-economic uplift in eco-friendly way.
