1,168 posts vacant in Kargil | 55,478 daily wagers, casual laborers regularized : Rather | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 29: Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather has said that 369 vacancies were filled up by District Service Selection Recruitment Board, LAHDC, Kargil in different departments during last three years. This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Aga Syed Ahmad Rizvi in the Upper House. Minister said that 1168 district cadre posts in various departments are vacant in the District of which 755 posts are to be filled up by direct recruitment and 413 posts by promotions. He said that out of 755 posts 624 posts have been referred to District Service Selection Recruitment Board, where as 131 posts are yet to be referred adding that SRB Kargil has started the process for filling up of these posts. Rs 15 lakh has been released to make up accommodation deficiencies at New Delhi: Finance Minister Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather has said that Rs 15 lakhs have been released for Resident Commissioners Office, New Delhi, to cater the deficiencies on account of boarding and lodging of VIPs visiting national capital. This was stated by Minister while replying to the supplementaries raised by Bashir Ahmad Magray, Murtaza Khan, Vijay Bakaya, Amrit Malhotra and Ali Muhammad to a question by in the Upper House. Minister said that Government has decided that training would be imparted for the proper and sustained training of the house keeping staff. In this regard the Resident Commissioner has requested Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) to organize refresher training course to improve the delivery of services, he said. Minister for Finance Abdul Rahim Rather today informed Legislative Council that as many as 59,023 daily wagers and 19,323 casual labors are working in various departments, autonomous bodies and public service undertakings in the state, adding 55478 daily wagers stand regularized leaving a balance of 3541. This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Ajay Kumar Sadhotra in the house here. Minster said that as and when the administrative departments submit proposals of regularization of eligible daily wagers to finance department, these are expeditiously considered in terms of SRO-64/94 on case to case basis. Minister said that daily wagers are regularized in terms of SRO-64/94, adding that while framing up of a policy for regularization of casual labourers is in process as yet. He said that government has constituted a Cabinet Sub Committee to go into the extent and magnitude of the problems relating to casual workers to see financial, legal and administrative implications. Service Selection Board has made 15243 selections to different posts from January, 2009 till date. This was stated by the Minister of Finance Abdul Rahim Rather in reply to a question by Muhammad Rashid Qureshi in Legislative Council here today. The Minister said that the recruitment agencies have fast tracked the recruitment process as a result of which selections are being made timely. He said the sanctioned strength of various posts of J&K Service Selection Board is 151 and 9 members have been provided to it to keep the recruitment process on fast track.
