| Annual sports day at Vivekananda College | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Mar 29: Vivekananda College of Education today celebrated its Annual Sports Day in the College Campus.
Chief Guest of the occasion were Prof. K.B. Sethi and Principal Police Training School kathua Ashok Sharma. He unfurled the sports flag and witnessed march-past of the participating students divided in five houses of the college. Chief Guest said that Vivekananda College of Education creates benchmarks in excellence not only in studies but also in sports and games.
Sports meet began in the presence of Chairman Vivekananda College Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta. Principal Vivekananda College of Education Dr. Anju Sharma, faculty members of B.ED alongwith E.T.T students participated in the events of 100 meter race, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, Kho-Kho and Volley Ball.
Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta said that challenging himself to incorporate fitness and health into his lifestyle is what makes a person fit and healthy. Games and sports play an indispensable role in shaping the personality of an individual. Various attractive items like Solo Song, Himachali dance, Giddha etc were presented in the cultural programme. The chief guest praised all the athletes and congratulated the winners. He distributed medals, Shields and certificates among the winners.
