Justice Kokje presents report to Governor | Rehabilitation of militancy victims | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 29: A high level delegation under the aegis of an Ahmedabad based Trust, “Justice on Trial” led by the Chairman of its Inquiry Committee and former Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Justice (Retd) V. S. Kokje, met the Jammu and Kashmir Governor, N. N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan here today. Justice Kokje presented to the Governor the first copy of the “Justice on Trial” Report on their enquiry in to the problems faced by the militancy affected people of various areas in Jammu Region. This Report contains findings of the enquiry as well as recommendations regarding further action. Briefing the Governor, Justice Kokje said that the enquiry team had visited Poonch, Reasi and Doda districts last year, interacted with the militancy victims and prepared this Report. He said that as per the practice of their organization, first copy of such reports is presented to the Governor of the concerned State. He added that the copies of this Report will also be presented to the Chief Minister, Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly and the President of India. Interacting with the delegation of the forum, the Governor informed them that he would address the Chief Minister about the recommendations contained in this Report. Delegation comprised former Lok Ayukta of Gujarat State, Justice (Retd) S. M. Soni; Coordinator, JOT, M. Rao; Chairman, Forum for Human Rights and Social Justice, J&K, Suneel Malhotra, Advocate; Trustee of the Forum for Human Rights and Social Justice, Jammu, S. S. Nanda, Advocate; social activist, Dr. Dushyant Gupta and Co-Convener of the Forum for Human Rights and Social Justice, Jammu, Koushal Bhasin.
