| Sajid, Khalid help Botany wins by 7 wkts | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, March 30: Sajid and Khalid today guided Department of Botany to a fine seven wickets victory over Department of Zoology in the ongoing inter-department (T20) Cricket Tournament of University of Jammu (JU) on the campus, here.
Earlier, a brilliant knock of 55-ball 57 runs from Sunil helped Zoology set a competitive total of 123 runs for the loss of seven wickets, which, in reply, Botany chased in 17.3 overs for the loss of three wickets.
Except for Sunil (57), no other batsman could play well. Rohit was only other batsman who contributed in double figure with 11 runs in his account. From Botany, Rayaz and Azhar shared one wicket each.
Later, Zoology overhauled the target making 125 runs for the loss of three wickets sparing 2.3 overs of their innings.
Sajid was top scorer with 44 runs, followed by Khalid, who made 21. Pourush contributed 5-ball 11 runs. From Zoology Department, Sunil claimed two wickets while Sheezan took one.
Today’s match was officiated by Raj Kumar and Vijay Dogra while Sat Pal was scorer.
