| Government shirks to face opposition, alleges Rather | | Create infrastructure for newly created districts within six months :Omar | |
JAMMU NOV-14- Urging immediate need for creation of infrastructure for the newly created Districts in the State, the National Conference President Omaar Abdullah today said that unless infrastructure is not created, the Government’s much publicized decision would prove meaningless. He was addressing a public meeting at Reasi organized by NC leader and former Minister Jagjivan Lal today. He said that if the government failed to put in place the required infrastructure for the newly created eight districts within next six months, the National Conference would come out to streets. While delimiting the districts, he said, the people of the respective areas should be taken into confidence, adding that while formulating the next year’s annual budget adequate provisions should be kept for these newly created districts so that the funds could not come in the way of establishment of these districts. Expressing serious concern over the rise in corruption, Omar said the intentions of the government to curb the menace does not seem to be bonafide as the much hyped State Accountability Commission is not functioning as per the declared intentions of the Chief Minister. Accusing the government of its failure on all fronts, former Minister and leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather in his speech alleged that the government was shirking to face the opposition in the legislature and that is why every time the legislature session is held for short duration which is unprecedented and bad precedents are being created in democratic history of the state. In his welcome address, Jagjivan Lal put forth the demands of the people of Reasi and said there is strong feeling among the common people that no government of its name exists in the state .He asked the people to be united under the leadership of Omar and strengthen National Conference. Among others present on the occasion were Ajay Sadhotra, Harbans Singh, Rattan Lal Gupta, Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, G M Jan, M R Qureshi, Kashmira Singh, Bimla Luthra and Gurdeep Singh Sasan
