Khoda reviews P-election arrangements through video conferencing

Jammu, March 30: The Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Kuldeep Khoda has asked the police officers to ensure peaceful and congenial atmosphere so that the people could exercise their franchise without any fear in the forthcoming panchayat elections. He also stressed for coordination among the different agencies to foil the designs of anti-social elements.
Mr. Khoda was interacting with the range Deputy Inspectors General of Police and District Superintendents of Police during a Video Conference from Police Headquarters (PHQ) here this after-noon. The Conference was held to take stock of the arrangements made for the panchayat elections. He was told that all preparations have been made with regard to deployment of troops and establishment of communication net-work to ensure effective polling across the State.
While seeking the reports from the officers, the DGP assured them that all required assistance with regard to manpower, mobilization and communication will be provided to cover the far-flung areas of the State during the elections. He asked the officers to convene meetings with the subordinate officers on regular intervals to identify the hyper sensitive areas and take necessary steps when and wherever required. He directed them to keep the senior officers apprised about day-to-day situations.
The DGP stressed that while making police Bandubast, people should not be put to any inconvenience so that a good turn out of voters is witnessed during the elections. During the Conference he also discussed security scenario in the Valley with the concerned range Deputy Inspectors General of Police and District Superintendents of Police and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements made to maintain law and order.
Among others, the Video Conference was attended by Inspectors General of Police, Smt. D. R. Doley, Mr. Navin Agerwal, Mr. Dilbag Singh, Sheikh Owais Ahmed, Dr. B. Srinivas, Mr. Ravinder Kotwal, Mr. A. K. Chowdhery and Mr. H. K. Lohia, Deputy Inspectors General of Police, Mr. P. R. Manhas, Mt.Yoginder Koul, Mr. Alok Puri, Mr. A. Q. Manhas, Mr. T. Punchok, Mr. Danesh Rana, Mr. A. S. Bali, Mr. Mubarak Ahmed Ganai and Mr. Garib Dass, AIsG (PHQ), Mr. G. H. Bhat, Mr. A. A. Kakroo, Mr. Firdous Iqbal and Smt. Nisha Nathyal and other police officers.
